About

I’ve had a camera in hand most of my life, but I really didn’t get serious about it until the late 1990’s. Living in West Michigan, with easy access to the lakeshore, urban areas and lots of open spaces tuned my eye to a large range of subjects. I try to see the things that most people pass by to make my photographs. The small or overlooked but beautiful things. I also try to capture the gorgeous light that falls in this area near the bookends of the day.

Whether the photograph comes from a modern digital camera or a 50 year old film camera, I also print my own photography. Using historical processes, some 100+ years old, gives my prints a one of a kind feel. For the older processes, such as Cyanotypes, Van Dyke Brown and Platinum, I use fine art papers and hand coat them, ensuring that each one is different from the previous print.

The photographs I print all strike a chord in me that touches my soul. I hope they do the same to you.

I now have work in the Saugatuck Artists Cooperative at 403 Water St., Saugatuck  Mi.  There is a lot of good art there along with  mine.  Please stop by and take a look.

If you are interested in a print of my work, please contact me.  I’m just setting up this web site, and I’m still trying to figure things out.  Thank you.
